Meet the team: Mean
Share
The second member of our team of bag makers that we want to introduce to you is Mean! Our team of mothers creates the beautiful bags of Notadaydream and without them we wouldn’t be able to create these unique handmade pieces!
Mean has been with the Notadaydream team since its inception, and therefore she is a key member of our team that is involved with all bags that we make. She is one of our go- to persons of the team. When we’re meeting with the team of mothers, she is on top of the complete bag making process and therefore can plan the production very well.
We spoke with her recently regarding her working for Notadaydream.
What do you like about working with Notadaydream?
Mean: “I’m so proud of the bags we make. The quality is really good. I do my best to deliver the best handmade bag. And for me it’s also important to waste as less materials as possible.”
What changed for you because of this job?
Mean: “I’m very happy that I can tell my story. Not only to the people I know, but also to others. I was pregnant with my second child when we arrived in Manila. We came here because we thought my husband had a job. Upon arrival there was nothing and we had no money to go back. We lived on the street for almost one year. Until a Jeepney owner helped us and got a Jeepney lease for my husband. I heard of the livelihood program and did everything as well to join. It was very hard in the beginning, but now we have a safe house for our family and I became a bagmaker!”
What’s your favorite bag and color?
Mean: “I like the handbag, because it's simple & elegant to see. For the colors I like the yellow and green, especially in the Lollipop fabric.”
What dream do you have?
Mean: “I would like to have my own house and my children being able to finish their school. Both of them are enrolled with help of the Bless the Children Foundation.”
Describe yourself in one line:
Mean: “I’m the active, sometimes little crazy, person of our team. I’m very busy with working, but you’ll know that I’m there.”
